Adding a printer - OSX - Commonwealth St

Your Desk has two printers:

  • A colour printer, located by the front door
  • A B/W only printer, located at the back of the office

Installation Guide

  • Download PS Printer Driver & Utilities for Macintosh V4.11.0, scroll down the page to the 'Download' section and tick the box.
  • Click the download button and once it's finished, open it.
  • Install the Driver
  • Open system preferences (you will find this by clicking the apple symbol in the very top left corner of your screen)
  • Click on Printers and Scanners (it’s on the second row with a picture of a printer)
  • Click the “plus” button (+) at the bottom left of the menu you just opened (it will be next to a dash (-) and a cog icon)
  • Select “Add Printer or Scanner” from the drop down menu
  • Click on the IP Icon at the of the menu that was just opened (the icon is a round globe)
  • In the address field (the first text area) type in the following:
    • For the colour printer, type in:
    • For the B/W printer, type in
  • Leave the protocol menu as “Line Printer Daemon –LPD”
  • Leave the “Queue:” field empty, this isn’t needed
  • Name the Printers:
    • For the colour printer, I use YD Colour
    • For the B/W printer, I use YD B/W
  • Click the “Use” drop down menu, which would say “Generic PostScript Printer”
  • From the menu, click on “Select Software”
  • In the top right hand side of the menu that just appeared (next to the magnifying glass and the word “Filter”, type:
    • For the colour Printer, search for: “ir adv c5030” and click “OK”
    • For the B/W printer, search for: “ir adv 4025” and click “OK”
  • Click Add
  • Print away
